Howie Green came to international attention with the publication of his book "Jazz Fish Zen: Adventures in Mamboland". His artwork has been featured in over 50 solo and group art gallery shows and he has painted over 100 public and private murals. He has received over 45 awards for his design and illustration work for numerous Fortune 500 clients including toy and game concept work for Parker Bros./Hasbro Toys and the Garbage Gremlin for the E.P.A.
Howie recently created the Pop Art Elephant for the Elephant Parade public art event in Bangkok, Thailand and had two designs selected as winners in the VW Polo International design competition in a show at the Danish Design Center in Copenhagen.
Howie's work has appeared in numerous professional publications and Howie's portrait 'Madonna Smoking' is featured in the British art Book "Madonna in Art" by Mem Mehmet. Howie won First Prize in Absolut Vodka's 25th Anniversary art competition in Boson, MA. 2 of his portraits of musician Neil Young appear in the art book "Art of Gold" by Herman Verbeke.
3 of Howie's painted life-sized cows were featured in the Boston Cow Parade - 2 of which (Moovin' All In & Flower Cow) were made into collectible figures.
Howie created the "Pop Art Pony" and "Prairie Princess Pony" collectible figures for Trail of the Painted Ponies.
Howie has completed large art and mural installations and a life size painted school bus in the Mellow Mushrooms in Jacksonville, and Delray Beach, Florida. Howie has also painted a series of Pop Art murals for Sun Life Financial and has been painting an ongoing series of indoor and outdoor murals for the Boston Red Sox Foundation. He painted a special holiday themed entrance to Boston City Hall and painted in the Benches on Parade and PGA Senior Tour public art event as well as painting numerous public utility boxes in various cities.
Howie's painting of rapper Biggie Smalls was used on the cover of the album "Unbelievable" and he recently painted Mr. Monopoly live online for Hasbro Toys.
Howie's art is licensed internationally with over 100 active licensed products including Jimi Hendrix and Beatles jigsaw puzzles and clothing items.
